In the past, both on this blog and in conversation, expressed the desire to become a regular person because being the weirdo that I am is keeping me single. It might be time to transition yourself to somewhere new, where old unworking patterns can be set aside more easily.

I could recommend the Minneapolis:MN area, but that might be considered self-serving.

If you're resigned to being a "weirdo" and trying to find someone who will like that... it wouldn't hurt to update your profile on that dating site if you're still using it to include your proper hobbies. At least if you meet anyone else through there afterwards, they'll already know about your hobbies in advance.

Well, when I was on dating sites (Match.com and eHarmony), I *did* have all my proper hobbies and whatnot on my profile. That's why I got such a small percentage of replies from all the messages I sent out. I don't have any dating profiles with "Fake Jason" set up.

I never said anything about fake information being added to your profile - there's a difference between omitting information providing fake information.

I guess I just presumed you didn't add in the geeky side of your life if your girlfriend used this as the reason to break up with you. She really should have been better prepared for it in this case, but I guess she kept fooling herself into thinking it wouldn't matter.
