can men and women ever really be friends? and y does the word friend never look right?

so basically i htink every guy who is your friend wants you and has some conscious or hidden hope of gettingwith you some day. if they no longer want you, they stop being your friend. an obvious generalization but a thought that keeps being proven to me again and again
