I understand your position, sir, but do please refrain from addressing the group as if every last one of us is a complete cultural moron. I realize there are members of our entourage that are immature at best, but some of us did our homework before this trip if only in preparation for the worst, and I imagine at least a handful of the company is acquainted with the antiquated notion of tipping.

I'm not sure I follow your reasoning on that. I don't require your certification, as you say; I'm only appealing to you not to make sweeping judgments. Just as I hope the employees on this trip don't make generalizations about cultures different from their own, I hope you can see the intelligence behind that request, at least.
