We have two in common (UW and Wesleyan). Nikki's mom went to Clark and when they went to visit, Barb said that the neighborhood has become extremely run down and that the campus is surrounded by boarded up buildings... so.. yeah.. take that into account. BU is huge and my uncle called it a "factory school," and it seems really different from all of the other schools on your list (which are smaller and leaning towards the liberal arts category). My cousin goes to Northwestern and absolutely loves it. Ummm... I visited Barnard and found the girls to be overly friendly in a fake way and they all seemed overly well dressed in an obsessive way. That may have just been me. Carelton and Macalaster are hecka cold, but they're really good schools. Annie's sister goes to Colby, I hear it's a big party school, if you don't mind that. Amherst and Brown have open curriculums, but I'm sure you know that. Personally,. I think I would need to be forced to take some humanities classes, but if you want that kind of freedom that's cool. Uhh ( ... )

yeah i went to clark and the neighborhood thing was kind of weird, i'm not sure if i'm actually going to apply there, but i liked the vibe of the school itself. and i'm not that sure about colby either cause i'm not into skiing so that might be a problem. but yeah basically all i want to take is humanities so open curriculum is bomb for me and that's why those are my top two basically.

p.s. what's your "list"? if you don't mind sharing. i'm curious as to what schools everyone else is looking at cause i;m scared that there are amazing ones i just don't know about.

Well, currently it's like this:

Yale (applying early action single choice)
Pomona
Williams
Harvard
Wesleyan
Haverford
Davidson
Whitman
UW
Rhodes
Hendrix
St. Olaf

The last three, specifically Rhodes and Hendrix are there because they would give me good merit aid. I'm trying not to share my list tooo much because I'm afraid people will steal my merit schools, which is sad, but true. My dream is probably Williams, followed closely by Yale and Haverford.

i don't know if this means anything, but based on every interaction i've had with barnard and barnard girls when visiting my brother at columbia, i don't see you being a barnard girl. in any way. BU is freaking huuuuge, but other than that i don't know much about it. i think carleton, mcalester, northwestern, wesleyan, and clark would all be good choices for you. but hey! good luck with all your applications. let me know if i can ever be of any help to you. like if you're interested in environmental programs or vermont or something, haha.

yeah barnard definitely had the JAP vibe going on, but like . . . it would be easier to get into than columbia. i dunno. we'll see.

My sister goes to Bates, which is by Colby, and it´s like in the middle of nowhere. And Colby is an hour past that, so it is even more in the middle of nowhere... I think, now, she would´ve preferred something a little more urban, although she does like the school. But you could be the rural, woodsy type, I don´t know.

oh, god. college. good list, though. i was thinking about macalester, but the whole lack of architecture program kinda kicked it off my list.
