The ninja glared at the mage, but the mage's expression never did change. Instead, he squeezed Elmo-chan tighter. "so this means..?" he started slowly. Kurogane nodded. Fay's expression was now more confused than anything, but he still attempted at keeping a smile. "Thats not true, Kuro-rin... I love plenty of things that loved me in return and--". He was brutally interrupted by the ninja "shut up. your getting a pet. You have no say in the matter.". Fay laughed softly "but wont a pet bother Kuro-tan more~?". Kurogane wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. no.. the mage only annoyed him sometimes, but overall, it was worth it if he got to wake up and see his face in the morning everyday. He wanted to continue to see that, every morning, for the rest of his life. Still, that wasn't something that Kurogane could admit to the mage. "no. It wont." being Kurogane, there were no explanations to be given. Usually when Kurogane said something, that was just that and nothing more. HURRY UP AND -SPEAK- KURO-RIN DX<. *thumps him*

Kuro had never felt himself as a caring sort of individual. He just deduced that others simply needed caring for. Protection. That was, he decided young, to be the main reason of his existance as a sworn ninja, sword or no sword. The long-gone country of Suwa was meant for him to protect, has been his destiny and dream since he learnt how. His purposeful direction had been tragically snatched away and veered sharply off course, dropping him into a cocktail of planned destinies but also with new oppurtunities to perform his skills. Hitsuzen was cruel, but with its price come rewards for his chosen decisions, whatever he chose.

Admitting that he did in fact, care about their 'little family' as the mage so delicately put it, shook him to the core, and left him feeling betrayed by his own stubborness to prove himself. The conversation seems to have taken a turn for the worst. Not for the mage, though. The idiot was actually smirking ( ... )
