Katie tied her own shoe today!

Owen had his 18 month appointment today. He was 30 inches tall (below 5th percentile!) and weighed 22.1 pounds fully clothed but shoeless (right in the middle of 5th and 10th percentiles) and a head circ of 48.5 cm (19.1 inches, a little bit smaller than Katie at the same age). Katie had her 4 year checkup today. She was 31 pounds fully clothed and in shoes, and 40 inches, wearing shoes. Poor kid got 4 shots (I was expecting 0 or 1, for some reason) and didn't take it so well. She cried a few times before they even got there with the shots. Otherwise, she's healthy and on target.

About a month ago, my dad let me know that they had found a lump in my grandmother's breast. It was rather large, and it would have been more of a shock if we found out it wasn't cancer. I'm looking for some lens suggestions for my DSLR (I see ytou hiding back there, Robin!) If I had a specific need, I'd say something zoomier so I can pick my kids out of a crowd, but I'd go for fun, too (I saw a really cheap fish-eye attachment).

Any other suggestions for alternate gear are ok, too.
