Camera gear

I'm looking for some lens suggestions for my DSLR (I see ytou hiding back there, Robin!) If I had a specific need, I'd say something zoomier so I can pick my kids out of a crowd, but I'd go for fun, too (I saw a really cheap fish-eye attachment).

Any other suggestions for alternate gear are ok, too.

This lens has been getting pretty good reviews:

It might help to know what kind of camera you have.

She has a canon...I seem to remember it being one of the newer/better rebels, but I could be wrong.

I'd say the best all purpose lens at the best price is probably going to be the tamron 28-75/2.8. I have pro friends who use that still almost exclusively. I got a kind of bad copy of it, and mine isn't super sharp, but it's still waaaay sharper than any of the lenses I had before making it a business. You already have the 50/1.8 right? Between the two of those, you'd have a pretty well rounded set.

I second the 28-75/2.8. I have that on my 20D and I love it. If you can tolerate a higher price tag, try the 24-105mm f/4 L IS.
