Thanks! I'm hoping it will actually stick this time, because there's a lot about LJ that I like and miss because it's not the same on tumblr. And I've discovered that you can't exactly make friends by lurking (crazy right?)

I struggle with this as well.
Yeah, I've tried reading the Thrawn trilogy and some of the other stuff by Zahn but I just can't get into it. I think maybe it's because I've been a fan of the movies for years, whereas it was only in the last year that I tried reading some of the EU books (and therefore examine it with a more critical eye? idk).

That's what is so appealing about her character! It's like a scifi christian in my mind, which rocks since I love scifi :P
I know right? I started watching the show and within a couple episodes I was like "holy cow this character is everything I ever needed where has she been all my life?!" Basically, FILLING VOIDS IN MY HEART I NEVER KNEW WERE THERE.

Hi! I friended you not that long ago because I like your icons. I am a big Doctor Who fan, but I was raised on Star Wars so I have a soft spot for it as well. I tried to get into the X-Files this summer, but although I liked it I have a ridiculously short attention span for television and it didn't quite take. I am also a university student--I'm 21, and I'm studying creative writing and, increasingly, math.

Yeah, I'll still be posting icons but I'm going to try to do more personal posts as well. And if you ever have the urge to start The X-Files again, you definitely should; it just gets better and better!

Hai Sarah! I think it's awesome that you also live on the east coast, everyone else on lj seems to live in CA or some other country! I live in NC, but my sister is actually going to school about 2 hours from Atlanta :D

I also have about 50% soundtracks in itunes. My family thinks I'm crazy because we will be watching a movie and I will be like this music is so beautiful... they just stare at me XD

Oh, that's cool that your sister's so close! And yeah, most of my internet friends seem to be in Canada, so it's always nice to come across someone a little closer to home.

AND YES, STAR WARS AND DOCTOR WHO! I've been a fan of Star Wars forever, though I only recently became a fan of DW (ugh but it's so good I watched all five seasons of new Who in a ridiculously short amount of time).

And oh man, I know that feeling! One of the first things I pay attention to in a movie or tv show is the score. My family's more or less gotten used to it, especially since I tend to flail over Star Wars music like, all the time. ;)
