So yeah, though I've had many things I could draw lately, and indeed many things I might want to draw fanart of... it was only after reading through the "Advanced Class" part of Girl Genius did I find something motivating enough to shove me into not just drawing, but devoting some kind of time to drawing. Lately my attempts have been embarassing and downright childlike, and it's depressed me a bit. Spending time on this, though, shows me what these quick, cruddy scribbles have done to my artistic sensibilities. Let's get the good out of the way first.
01. "Gotz to be subtle in front uf de haitch-oh-zee-bee... bee... hyu know, him."
I've found out that
Mr. Sortelli shares my
passion. D: I wonder if this will lead to a dramatic battle to the death... Dimo of
Girl Genius, who is apparently the most awesome character to exist at any time, ever. This actually didn't turn out anything like I wanted it to; I think I'm too out of practice, but I actually was even going for a completely different artistic style than how this turned out. It also ended up being larger than I usually draw, which might've been part of the problem. Also drwn on the Amazingly Shitty Paper, which makes me sad, as I'd love to whip the pens and traditional media out on this bastard. I'm afraid that I ruined his good looks by making him a bit "bishounen"... forgive me! *prostrates self before Dimo*
02. A Very Gestapo Christmas
Seriously, I'm not sure how Jade feels about the nazi party or any of its ideals, but the light of my life is making jokes about him doing things that he finds completely innocent that seriously, SERIOUSLY make those around him question his mental wellbeing. Drawn between 2 and 4am, some of the errors make me gag, even for a cruddy quick sketch-comic.
03. Well, I'd marry her
after much frustration about fluxuating art-quality and slumps, I doodled this at like... 3am. As is usually the case these days. Still tends to come out better than anything I do when I'm actually awake... plenty of stuff I dislike about it, but it was still a sight better than anything else before that point...
Don't arsk us about: odd colors used in the lineart, odd shading or folds, uneven line darkness, Mrs. Cake.
