So with a passionate fervor I have been drawing outside of my box! One day I may actually not hate something enough to feel like finishing it. /o/
1
I kept forgetting to even scan this one, and had already inked the right face before finding out I had not scanned it once in the three times I'd done batch scans since drawing it. This is very not my policy, as I am a terrible inker and often ruin sketches with my attempts at inking them traditionally, it is generally an imperative to have a digital copy of a sketch before I go throwing inks on it.
2
This one I just forgot to save, likely because of the left and how much it burns my eyes. The right, however, is the nicest animation style sketch I've done, as well as one of the nicest pensketches.
3
I had me some serious art block, and I'd sat and stared at the page for about 15 minutes, before going "fuck alla this LET'S GO GIRAFFES". No reference, which does make me sad, just attempting to remember the way they'd looked at the zoo.
4
Eventually even I reach a breaking point where I get tired of the shitty ugly faces I draw and want to make them better, so that I can ruin them with kiddy anime style again. I did attempt to use the clone stamp tool in order to move and patch up one of the eyes, the eyes were big in the original as well but not this big I believe. also for once I draw someone wearing less mascara than they actually had on. If you search for zooey deschanel on google you will easily find the reference picture for this.
5
No reference, just trying to observe and apply what I'd learned from the previous face study. Didn't turn out at all, partly because the study hadn't been from this freaking angle jesus get it together.
6
While studying russian, attempting to draw from ref photos that may have been less than 200pix big. In fact the body of the sheep was taken from a picture too small to make out the face, and the face from a picture that, rather confusingly, made the sheep look like it had 4 eyes. The turtle's shell I apologize for emphatically.
7
Without reference, attempting to "keep it real", face style. I hate shoulders so, so much.
8
Actually drawn much smaller than the previous picture, one would think I am drawing a specific character but no, just more face/shoulder battery.

Scarlett Johansson's face is humongous. seriously. I'm pretty sure I still didn't put her eyes up high enough and yet the sheer amount of cheek real estate is overwhelming already. Another one that is easily found just by plugging Scarlett Johansson into google.
While this probably isn't helping me with things like depth or you know, bodies, it is helping me come to grips with the natural width and length of faces, which I have struggled with for ages.
