That is an unfortunate thing to have to come home to, yes. Do you know why surgery would be needed as opposed to a splint/cast for cats, or is there no such thing?
Regardless, I hope the cat is doing better now that you are home.

Surgery is better, align the broken bones and pin them so they heal properly. I can have the vet splint every week for 6 weeks, but that involves 6 very stressfull vet trips for the cat aand they all require sedation so that option is still $1000+

I ordered an ortho splint yesterday so will use that.
