BREAKING NEWS:
M. Night Shyamalan on Racial Diversity in The Last Airbender Shyamalan calls the film "The most culturally diverse tent-pole in history."
He compares the casting of the film "to the UN" and says he wants to see "the faces of our whole world" in Airbender.
If by "faces of our whole world" you mean a world with a glass ceiling where the darker faces are pushed to the background and can't play the lead heroes.
"Maybe they didn’t see the faces that they wanted to see but, overall, it is more than they could have expected."
Because having characters of color "whitewashed" and giving opportunities for people of color to play "Old Man in the Temple" and "Earthbending Boy #2" are such great handouts.

(yeah, because people who are upset about racial discrimination are so "touchy.")
