I've decided that I need to keep a daily journal to move all the extraneous thoughts, feelings, ideas and such from inside my cranium out into the light of day where I can process it, retain what needs to be retained and toss out what I no longer need.  I'm thinking some of these entries will be public and some will be private depending upon what ( Read more... )

Welcome to Livejournal, lady! I find it very cathartic and really helps me process my thoughts and emotions.

A vast majority of the time, some of my most private thoughts are shared with only my LJ friends and I feel very comforted when I get replies that they are going through the exact same thing. ;o)

But I hope you enjoy your journal and I hope it helps you tremendously!

Thanks miss...I've been struggling with the whole journaling thing. When I have happy/good news to write down it's no problem. But when I feel like I'm complaining, then I almost feel guilty or that I'm being a whiny baby when there are folks out there with way bigger problems they're dealing with. I *know* that's not true, but it's just a reaction to the years of not letting it out and just smushing down all that stuff. Practice makes perfect I suppose!

I know it's hard to change a behavior that's been ingrained in you for so long. And I understand the whole feeling like you're whining when other people have bigger problems. BUT, this is YOUR journal and these are YOUR feelings and YOUR problems. And this is a very constructive way of working through those problems. We all have issues in life and some are bigger than others. But if they're big enough to effect your life, then they're big enough to work through them and process them in whatever way you see fit. :o)
