is curriculum night at my son's elementary school. I was just looking over the things he brought home yesterday, and this paragraph from the letter of the week caught my eye

Sorry, but that is the sad state of education in our society. Just get used to the idea that at least until junior/high school where decent school libraries (might) be available, most of your kid's learning will be happening outside the school, or at least the ciriculum.
