Most Awesome thing EVER!

Some of you may not know that my friend lilsilverheart is an amazing artist.  And I have always wanted a painting from her.  And I have said this out loud to my husband.

Some of you may also not know that one of our ideas about how Mr. Mike spends his time is as the drum major for the neighborhood pet parade.  I have always imagined him in a red jacket with

It's funny, because Ben had always wanted an orange tabby, and so when we were gifted with Sully and Mr. Mike by Mama Kitty, he was so excited and claimed Sully as his. As a matter of fact, we were planning to give Mr. Mike away, and had a phone call from someone at the vet's office who wanted to take him...but I couldn't let them have him. He always was a troubled kitty ("litter box" isn't a concept he's a fan of), and I was afraid no one else would still love him like I would, so we kept them both. And I totally have no idea how my life would ever be so nice without him!

I am so thrilled that I got to do this for you, especially since Ben was so sweet to plan ahead months in advance (that's actually how we met! he emailed me to inquire about this painting forever ago!) and do this for you. What an amazing husband you have, and thank you for the opportunity to paint something SO fun! I had a blast with Mr. Mike!

It is SO awesome...I mean, I can't help but smile whenever I see it!!!!!

And it looks *so* good in the hallway. I can't wait for my mom to see it when she comes back to help me finish baby stuff this week :-D
