I think all the flashbacks and flashforwards were real. So, yes, meeting in the stadium was real ( ... )

One theory I have heard is that only the babies of the Dharma Initiative and the Others die because Jacob was punishing them for being "bad" like his mother convinced him they were. Like a plague of some kind. But, obviously babies live on the island. Alex was born there as well as Jacob and his brother ( ... )

If I read this as a book, I would catch it on fire at the end. And then go write terrible reviews of it everywhere I could.

I think what I've learned - based off your answers to my questions and what I've read elsewhere - is that everyone did take away from this what they wanted to. If you wanted to like it, you do. If you were expecting the writers to do a job and explain anything, you hate it. I don't even mind that they all ended up being dead and singling kumbaya together in a church while filing towards the white light (hello, Patrick Swayze in "Ghost") but it's the fact that it didn't have anything to do with the show. In my opinion, anyway. Lee was right - if you're going to start a show like you should be taking Science notes, then it had better end like a fucking Steven Hawking book full of explanation.

And also, it didn't seem to me that Eloise had a say on where Daniel went. She was scared when she asked Desmond if he was taking her son.

And I am glad that I didn't invest time into the show :-)

Man, I never watched this show, but I may just watch the season finale for grins, after this treatment! This sounds like X-Files meets Cube meets Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

Luke, without watching all the prior setup, it won't do much for you. Too much mythology you won't get. You have to have the pain of unmet expectations to do the experience properly. :)

What the hell, Mack, how do you know Rachael?!

Anyway, I think you underestimate my yen for ridiculous non sequiturs. I have no interest in doing the experience "properly," I just want to laugh merrily at the absurdity of it all.

Oh, I don't know Rachael. :) I just saw your comment on your own journal about how everyone's posting about "Lost". I therefore deduced that your friendslist was actively talking about the show and hopped over to your list to check it out. I just followed the connections. :) (If you want it private these days, use another pseudonym...)

But here's the thing. You won't find the show that absurd, in my opinion, if you just watch the final episode. On an episode level, Lost is a very well-told show. Where it falls down is connecting the pieces on the overall plot. If you watched the last episode without all the unanswered questions ringing in your head, it would probably be a better show.
