Wow, ok, so I definately brought your post up in a class today. The class is called Value Studies and we basically talk about different value systems throughout the world. Well, today we were reviewing for a test and we started talking about how males and females view love and how there seems to be this "myth" of a perfect romance. So, I just mentioned how I had a friend at Ole Miss who just recently posted about this topic and just basically summerized your post. The professor thought it was an awesome thing and you definately scored me some major brownie points. :)

Erich Fromm, "The Art of Loving". Good book on this subject exactly. We used it in class and I bet you'd enjoy it. It talks about the idea of the progression of love and the myth of how we percieve love in the modern world. Pretty interesting stuff. ttyl
