The bored brother certainly looks... bored!

What did you guys make of the parade, it certainly looked a bit feeble from the Oriental where we were gawking down at the big screens.

Haha yeah the things he has to put up with... It was actually surprisingly enjoyable because I quite like the Singapore skyline from that particular spot and the atmosphere was pretty chilled out, perhaps because we were given tickets for the preview and not the actual thing. Was fairly entertaining for us kids, poking fun at the usual medley of strange creatures and yelling "Go Potong Pasir!" at opportune moments while the parents lapped up the cheesy displays and fireworks. Kit Chan has a good voice, I gotta say. And Annabel Francis just cannot speak normally! Too funny.

You should definitely go to Buko Nero anonymous August 10 2007, 17:35:14 UTC
Hey, thanks for the compliment. I have gone to Celler Door and I think they make good Eggs Benedict but I'm still waiting for that place-that's-going-to-open-that's-going-to-rival-New-York-brunches...hahaha. If that ever happens in this little red dot. But yes, Buko Nero is great! Why haven't you made a reservation?

Maybe you should think about opening the-brunch-place-that-will-rival-the-ones-in-New-York! Brunch is the perfect makan concept over here I think. Everybody likes a lie-in on the weekend, or a nice relaxed place to have a light meal at after church... so how does Cellar Door compare with Mimolette? Still worth a road-adventure off Eng Neo Avenue?

I've tried to make a reservation at Buko Nero since some time last year, whenever I've been back for the hols but have only ever managed to get their answering machine! Also got put off by Garibaldi and Il Lido, which were charging stupendous amounts for pretty mediocre food so I temporarily gave up the hunt for nice Italian although many reputable sources tell me that I should definitely persevere with trying to land that elusive Buko Nero table. :)
