I fail at LiveJournal

There's a journal I follow because the person writes things I like to read. Well, today she posted that she is defriending people who have failed to post an adequate number of comments in her journal. And then! She posted statistics! Comment statistics demonstrating how often or how rarely we miscreants post in her journal! Comment statistics! ( Read more... )

She says she got her statistical program from here:

It was pretty funny. She posted the stats to prove that she was not cutting at random, or maliciously, but surgically cutting according to irrefutable scientific evidence!!

Oh dear. I think the first one goes right into the "PLS R&R" camp from fanfiction.net - which doesn't say much about them as a writer! I go through long periods of not posting anything, and I've never been defriended for not posting enough - I must not have the right people friended to get a case of High Dudgeon Defriending!

Well, from now on, I'll be watching you, missy! And counting not only the number of comments you leave, but the number of words in each comment!!

Absolutely. Every syllable counts. I'll never reach MNF status unless I get tough.

Oh, how delightfully entitled of them! Blah. You're better off without them.

Getting cut by the little old retired lady ... the unkindest cut of all, LOL.

I think that these people miss a very important point, that is having an on-line life is about sharing, with people you may or may not meet in your life, they are being very childish imo, but look from the bright side, at least they weren't your RL friends- if they were, they might one day stop being your friend because a) you were not being funny enough, as if you were a circus monkey and you were meant to entertain her; or b) you didn't leave enough messages on her answering machine.
So cheer up, ok?

But, oh, the trauma of having a little old retired lady tell me I am boring. I mean, damn. That's harsh.

Those people are the *real* boring ones.

Cause they're very shallow and empty inside.

*Hugs*
