Moving to the NCR to work at the Pentagon. I rented an apartment online, without seeing it in person (gulp) in Northern Virginia. The movers come tomorrow and I am in a hotel now. I leave St. Louis, Missouri on Friday ( Read more... )

Safe travel!

And hey, my folks live in Maryland and they do a lot of driving around! It's really pretty up there, they tell me. Also, there is a lot of craftsy stuff up in Pennsylvanian. They're forever going up to the Amish communities to get fruits and vegetables.

And while it is touristy, there is a lot to do in DC as well.

And lastly, about the divorce. My condolences. I know there are a lot of emotions surrounding it, but *do* look at this move as a chance to start over. Do things that interest you!

Congratulations on this new phase of your life! I hope you have a blast!!

Good luck with the move, and all the walking-up in your near future!

I expect to get real healthy LOL. Actually I lived in a walk-up in NYC too, so I am used to it.

Have a safe trip to DC, and good luck with the move.

While there are some shining episodes, like the one about the legend surrounding Robert Johnson, it is obvious to me that the writers' talk of "research" is b.s.

This is so true - I would have loved to have seen more American folklore. Such lazy writing on their part, with all that history to explore.

And barely any work would have been required on their part. There are hundreds if not thousands of books on American folklore. All they needed to do was buy a few and read. Would have given them enough plots for several seasons.

Ah well. There is still the car, the music and the handsome men!

Thanks for the good wishes on the move. All my stuff was picked up today. I expect to have two very hectic days at work, then I will get on the road Friday. If you guys ever visit the U.S., you have a place to crash!
