Just out of curiosity, what type of flowers are those.

I don't know -- the plant is an ugly spiny weed. There are a few kinds of weeds that survive here. I haven't seen any real flowers, bushes or trees except those in the ISAF HQ garden. Never saw such a barren place. The American southwest is not barren like this.
