I have reached some terminal state of busy-mindedness. I keep forgetting to tell people things, or pausing mid-stride in one task to turn around and attend to something else...or cross the kitchen and only do half a task (adjust the oven rack in preparation for baking something, but walk away forgetting to preheat it ( Read more... )

Swoon...It happens every so often. A fancy is struck, my head is turned, and I spend 20 minutes at a time mooning about, thinking of the object of my affection with a wistful smile on my face. I want a Prius. It's so pretty. So shiny. So environmentally responsible (yes, I've drunk the koolaid, shut up!). *wistful sigh*

I had an absolutely fantastic day off yesterday. Lunch out with a good book, exchanging some Symphony tickets, a leisurely walk around Auntie's Books and Uncle's Games (Coffee Social now has an UNO deck), then a walk with my mom through a funky (but quickly gentrifying) neighborhood and a heretofore unexplored river front park. My mom exclaimed "Oh, Rachel, he's beautiful!" and then promptly clamped her hand over her mouth, worried she wasn't supposed to reveal the sex.

My honey-boy. My boo-man. My sweet not-little-anymore son.

Damn, I'm lucky to have him as a son.
