Friends Only

A child said, What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands;
How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is, any more
than he.

I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green
stuff woven.

Or I guess it is the handkerchief of the Lord,
A scented gift and remembrancer designedly dropt,

Friends-only is a very comfortable way to go. I've always had mine friend-only, and I like it.

Yeah, I will definitely feel much better about "being myself" if I have some idea of who's reading. I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to the Internet, I confess. It's probably the result of taking all those stories about stalkers and weirdos and creeps seriously.

Oh, yes, totally. I'm quite nervous with all the internet danger. I think being over-cautious makes more sense than being overly confident that one's danger is small. Sure, it's unlikely, but it's also 'unlikely' that one's child would get abducted in the mall, but it happens.

I have next to nothing to say for myself, I fell out of writing my life down over a year ago, so my asking isn't necessarily in the interest of mutual exchange; but you seem worth it: May I quietly read along?

A brief introduction:I am the second-born daughter of a Baptist pastor and Supermom, sister to a multitude, and Aunt to two. As of February 2005, I have been living with my paternal grandparents in Eastern Iowa, working as secretary (which affords me random minutes to read LJs) and serving in various other capacities for the church in which my parents met.

Hello! You go to SLU? I have a good friend who is a professor there. She's in the history department. Sometimes I feel like I live in St. Louis as I am always going down there! Maybe someday I'll move there. :) Anyway, sorry if this comes across as weird since you really don't know me or anything! But I found your LJ through aftondays.

Yeah, I was actually an undeclared history major for a semester before switching to Communication. :) Which professor is your friend? I had Jennifer Popiel and Silvana Siddali last fall for history courses.

I always like meeting new people with connections to St. Louis, so I'll add you to my list, if that's okay. :)

That's awesome! Silvana is the friend I was talking about. And thanks for the add. I'll go ahead and add you back. ;-)
