After watching On The Lot this week, I have developed a personality test.  However, I don't know the accuracy of this personality test, and so I would like the help of anyone who reads this.

Please watch the video on this page and tell me your opinion of it, in as much detail as you want.  It is only a minute long, so it won't take long.  Tell ( Read more... )

It's awful and depressing. I think it perhaps somewhat accurately depicts the depressing idea that something that is not your fault or that you don't understand can be a sin and make you evil. In the video only the innocent is punished. Not the mean guys and not the fellow who high fives him.

I saw the guy as being "retarded".

I asked sid what she thought she felt it was a "successful adult take on those cheesy lessons that we are taught as children; the preachy books that tell you it's good to be yourself, don't follow the crowd." " i didn't find it funny so much as thought provoking. I liked it, i give it thumbs up" She felt the man was socially inept or a foreigner and not retarded "if he's retarded, we're not suppose to relate to him any more so it loses it's message"

Due to reading more philosopical books lately, my reaction is that there is a huge range of emotions and that there are many ways to express them. What is the difference between a young couple hugging and kissing, an old man taking the coat of his wife and a friendship wellcome hug? To some degree it is instinct that helps us differentiate, and yet it is very dependent on experience. I don't think that is the point of the movie, the point is to poke fun at the retarded guy who can't distinct the difference between the emotional conections he observes. I think we all can relate to it, because the movie is about fitting in, and we all want to fit in and we all have made mistakes trying to fit in. I don't know if I like it, makes me kind of sad despite the amuzement value.
