My laptop needs a new motherboard.  It has trouble making a connection with the AC adapter cord.  The problem is getting worse, and according to a Dell service rep I talked to, it will eventually no longer recharge the battery, and therefore not run at all unless I provide it with an already charged battery

That's okay. It seems unlikely that there is a solution that doesn't involve replacing the motherboard. I'll see when I'm in Seattle if my parents are willing to help me out with the cost of a new computer or repair.

ok. ....well B may also be able to help you choose an inexpensive computer; I think his business account may get better prices than consumer machines, but either way he knows the market well enough to tell you which processors are good and which are slow, etc..

Yep, I said a little prayer as I put the bible on the computer. Something like, "Dear God, please help me charge my computer battery", and He answered my prayer.
