I guess that means they get to retire and collect unemployment / severence?

He got 39 weeks severance, plus, according to my mom, he can collect unemployment on top of that, which I don't really understand. My mom has a new job in Chelan that she just started yesterday. She really likes it.

My step-mother doesn't like her commute and is excitedly awaiting the day she gets laid off. It should be soon, since she's been out on sick leave for most of the last year-and-a-half.
