oooo totally adore Song of Ice and Fire, and love Robin Hobb as well. I've not had a chance to read too much of her stuff other than the Farseer trilogy, but I really enjoyed it! Just annoyed the books can be pricey and hard to find in charity shops...plus there's so many of them! I've got by whith a few lucky finds and borrowing some, so hopefully I can get the rest of her books eventually.

Well, my colleague has actually given me all the Hobb books (he only reads things once), so would you like the Liveship trilogy (follows Farseer trilogy)? It's got different characters, in the South of the continent, but it's good :) I can bring it to Expo!

Robin Hobb is a bit depressing for my tastes, but I completely sympathise on the sleeping thing. :P

... Gemma sympathises too. I'm not sure if that's because she stays up reading, or because I do. :>

Hmm, I haven't found them that depressing. I find it a lot lighter then ASOIAF! I think Ross would hate me if I read in bed with him ^^'

About the only thing more depressing than Song (the book or two that I read, anyway) is Katherine Kurtz's work. :P
