Old Fandoms Rediscovered

I loved the X Files when it was showing. And BSG too. I don't think there was much of an internet fanfiction club back then with the X Files. I could be wrong, I didn't latch on to the Buffy fanfiction sites for a long while.

And I did watch Lois and Clark too.

XF fandom! Smaller than it used to be, but there's a lot of stuff. Here's what I've got off the top of my head:

xf_book_club is a great place for fic discussion; it also works as a recs list! xfilesfanfic is where people writing on LJ post their fic, mostly. xf_is_love is just wrapping up the third annual "love month" festival. xf_santa is the annual holiday exchange, which has a good number of participants. xf_bigbang is hosting a big bang at the moment, and there's lots of good work saved on there. (Personal plug: I run a community on Dreamwidth, another journaling site, called Philedom, which just had a huge party in April, so there's stuff there to read.

Gossamer and Ephemeral are the major non-LJ fic clearing houses, and there is an active board on TWoP for XF. The Haven is still in existence, but you need to apply to join; it's a shipper-centric board and can occasionally be wanky, but I think it's worth having a membership.

Nice to meet you! See you around, I hope!

Thanks! I know Gossamer and Ephemeral from the old days, and I will definitely check the LJ ones out!
