This part stood out to me immediately

I reminded you that I loved you
like a broken record
at night, in the morning,
when you opened the car door.

The part about Happily ever after called in sick. is original and different, yet it is a spot on description that works so well.

This evokes feelings and images and the words run like a river.

You are a poet.

Oh, thank you for this, bb. It was a sort of scary, vulnerable thing sharing this publicly, and I'm just so glad it touched someone. So much of it is personal, including the excerpt you referenced, so I wasn't sure how well it would translate for others.
