Precisely. Or when a girl who can hit is labled with the "L" word. Or similarly, that little boys are discouraged from participating in rhythmic gymnastics.

I have a beef with having a beef about this... The thing is, for the most part, girls aren't strong enough to hit the same way boys are. Our bodies aren't built the same way and that's not anti-feminist, it's anatomical. It's very very rare that you get girls with the same kind of power that boys have. Our bodies are built for different things, and our strength is generally in our legs/hips. Men typically have chicken legs but much stronger upper bodies. And yes, to some extent, hitting a soft/baseball requires some amount of leg strength, it's still much easier to hit it farther when you're stronger up top

Speaking of men with chicken legs, I was at a softball game the other day. A bunch of men past their prime pretending to play softball, but it was really an excuse to consume Bud Lights. Anyway, a man who was 6'6" didn't seem to get the memo that spandex shorts don't work on their own, much less with a shirt tucked in to them. It only accentuated the chicken legs.
