All About Politics.

I have always been an admirer and have been profoundly fascinated in anything regarding Political Sciences. Although The United States of America isn't my home country, I find immense interest in their political system and of course, the current elections. Now I haven’t had many occasions to keep myself up-to-date on the recent events, as well as ( Read more... )

Ooh, well if this is a surprise to you ... I support Hillary Clinton fully. Personally, she strikes me as someone who cares honestly and deeply about the people of the US, as well as the people of the world. It seems like Barack is in it for the glory, and for the the title of POTUS. She's been working to improve people's lives for 35 years, especially children's. When Bill was the Gov. of Arkansas, she served on the board of the children's hospital, and by the time they left it was the 2nd biggest children's hospital in all the US. When she was a First Lady, she led Bill's effots to provide health care for everyone. Now, she is again fighting for health care. Her plan covers everyone w/ the mandate (income caps & tax rebates are provided) whereas Barack's plan leaves out 15 million people, potentially. I mean, I could honestly go on and on and on, but I won't. You can check out her plans on her website, HillaryClinton.com. The fact that she's a woman is only a plus, but definitely ADDS to my support of her, but it's not the BASIS. ( ... )

Thank you so much for sharing. I've been leaning towards her even more these past few days but a few incidents and problemes still stops me from supporting her fully, like her opinions on stay-at-home mothers and her recent videos concerning 9/11 and terrorists in Middle Eastern countries to emotionnal connect with the voters druing the Pensylvania primary. I will do more research for sure.
You have no idea what your comment means to me, thank you :)

Well, she never said she was against stay at home moms ... if she were, she wouldn't have been fighting for women's rights / children's rights all these years. That lifestyle just doesn't suit her; but it very well fits other women. :) Some women enjoy staying home and taking care of their children and aren't satisfied with other professions. Hillary, though, was born to do what she is doing; and I think we can all see that she is a good mother. That is something not even the nastiest of haters can deny her; Chelsea is a wonderful young woman.

Re: The videos. Hillary didn't make the videos herself, obviously. Unfortunately, it's a type of propaganda that is quite often used in politics; take it with a grain of salt. Barack Obama, on the other hand, has unleashed numerous commercials attacking Hillary's character; she has never once attacked his personality; only his politics. Keep that in mind. :)

You're welcome! I love discussing politics.

I do understand it's not the right lifestyle for her but I do frown upon her not accepting it fully as other's lifestyle. Just this particular statement still gets on my nerves every time someone brings it up ( ... )

I guess what my parents taught me: Religion, and their party. If they're a democratic we won't vote for them, since our entire family is republican. I know you might be thinking I'm judging way too much, and a religious person in office won't force it down the country's throats. Politics is very interesting to me as well.

I don't support any of the candidates thus far. I don't know anything about them..and perhaps I "should" get informed.

Just a slight warning. You could possibly open up debates and such. Politics can be a very touchy subject if people take them the wrong way.

You should have seen and heard the madness at the last election when Bush was visiting our town. Some people are just too hard core when it comes to this stuff. Booing and what not. People holding up signs for the other candidate, and telling the people who walk by them to vote for their party.

Like you said, I don't want to start a debate, but I don't think it's being "too hard core", I think it's being passionate, well informed, and caring about in what direction the country is headed. People get "touchy" because it affects them personally when someone is elected into office where they live. One of the great things about America is that dissent is not frowned open, and that people are free to speak their minds and make a fuss if need be. I honestly don't want to get into a fight, I just wanted to throw that out there. :)

Well that was a great and appropriate response, thank you. I feel the exact same way. I think civilans who participate in any election or national problems and debates is definelty great and worthwhile. Some people tend to go to extreme, I agree and it is a bit overwhelming I am sure. Being from a small time I dream for those moments so I would'nt be able to answer you Sandy, truthfully.
Everyone loves a debate and a good fight and elections are the perfect oppurtunity to prove yourself of being worthy and right. That is the reason why people get a bit wild around these times I suppose.

Debates are great, I do live for great ones and I've never backed down from a good fight. Doesn't have to develop into a full grown brawl, just exchanging ideas won't kill anyone, I hope. :)

But why do picketers have to bash their opposite party? It isn't necessary! Some people could get hurt. I'm not sure if I'm still voting this year, but so far I'm leaning on a big NO to voting this time around.
