Those corrupt, thieving, mudslinging, lying, ridiculous Liberals are out of power in the wonderful land of Canada. AND HOORAY! My Candidate just pulled ahead of that Liberal guy in my riding. It's SO CLOSE. I'm really glad I voted

Hooray! Someone with an open mind!! See, the way you feel about me and my voting is how I feel about the people who criticized my vote! I just want everyone to exercise their right regardless of who they're voting for! I am a firm believer in everyone has a right to their own opinion. AND VOTE! I think it's dishonoring to the men who fought and died to win our freedom to not vote!
And honestly, I don't think it was being raised in the states, I think it was being raised in Church and still holding onto that belief system that influenced my vote. Though I can't see myself ever voting Liberal no matter where I was raised or who I was raised by. Even if I was raised by a bunch of gorillas in the jungle! LOL!
Damn, I'm glad we got that sorted out. I AM SO STILL YOUR FRIEND... as long as you don't mind that I voted NDP. Hey, come on, its not like my party even had a chance of winning!! So, we should really pick a day (or two) to have our Alias Season 2 marathon... I have all 4 seasons.. so we can watch all the Sark episodes too!
I know, it was stupid of me. But if you saw how I was treated at work by all my "friends" you would understand my apprehension!!!
Anyway, um we definitely need an ALIAS date! I'm starting to forget the first seasons so I think it would be cool to watch them again! Plus, once school is out (I know, I know, that's a long way away) I'm going to have a lot more time on my hands since the freakin' wedding was rebooked.
P.S. Of course I don't care that you voted NDP! I'm glad you voted for who you wanted too!
I don't care what party you voted for. lol. It's your own choice. ;) I've never been ashamed of admitting who I voted for. This election, I voted NDP (which I don't see as "communist" especially since there was a Communist Party canididate running in my riding ;). I don't mind some of the NDP's social and environmental policies. I'm by far more liberal than conservative but I have voted for the old Reform/Alliance party in the past and they turned into the Tories so there you go. I didn't vote Liberal this time for plainly obvious reasons (we definitely agree on that!). I didn't vote Tory because I just can't fucking stand Stephen Harper. Maybe if someone else had been in charge I might have considered it. But he's far too extremist for my tastes and we completely disagree on social issues. I believe with every fibre of my being that anyone who wants to get married should be allowed to. And I do support a woman's right to choose. Hey, I'm even ok with stem cell research if it can be used to cure disease. I'm pretty sure I'd get stoned
( ... )
I agree that it would be boring if we agreed on everything! Then we wouldn't have elections like these (although I wouldn't miss the commercials!). And I hope I in no way insinuated that you, or anyone else who disagrees with me would have the same reaction that people at work did. I mainly just needed to vent. I've never felt so attacked in my life!
Also, I also wish that Harper wasn't the party leader...that was my only problem with voting Conservative. He's so creepy. He's like, the child molester that lives next door who everyone thinks is so nice and are so "shocked" when they find out. :p
I deleted you off MSN because my list is getting too full and I deleted all the people that I don't really talk to that much. I mean, no offense, but we really don't talk that much. Also, sometimes your screen names are full of swear words, which I personally don't have a problem with, but I share this computer with my fiance's parents and I don't want them to see that as it would really offend them.
No offense taken! I appreciate your honesty in the matter... I've kept you on my MSN list and on here as well as I believe you're a good person and for other reasons I happen to like about you. I realise we might not talk much... maybe because of school... maybe for other reasons as we're both busy people, I'm sure... but I'd love to remain your friend regardless... if you'll have me lol :P Either way, it's all good! I'm just glad to have made your acquaintance :)
I disagree with your stance on almost every issue you've presented. If that meant I was going to stop talking to you then I'd be an ignorant asshole. No "friend" would abandon you based on your political choice. Unless it was the "KILL ALL OF RACHEL'S FRIENDS" party.
LOL! I'll tell you right now that I'm never going to vote for the KILL ALL OF RACHEL'S FRIENDS party! I'm pretty sure they were half-joking, but still...ugh. I felt so judged.
I hope we, on the other hand, can agree to disagree! :)
Of course we can. Canada would be a fucked up place if we all never talked to anyone who didn't agree with us on something. No one's black and white.
Besides, political argument are FUN! I couldn't hate a person that didn't agree with me on political issues, they'd be a source of entertainment! Unless it got to personal insults. And personal insults suck anyway.
Yeah I'm definitely not down with the personal insults! I don't think I've ever intentionally insulted anyone in my life (note the use of the word intentionally!). Actually though, I don't like political discussions. In my family they turn into these big heated debates with my Grandmaman pointing her finger in my cousin's face (who is more than twice her size) screaming. Of course, the night always ends with hugs and kisses and "I love you's" but still. :p
