week one of the grand experiment
Right on: Ian has thoroughly enjoyed being in the first grade. Good behavior reports so far this week. He comes home in shock and awe that they do things like read their library books in class.
The only difficult thing is when he comes home with homework that has pretty sketchy instructions, where it's obvious all the other kids have been doing ( Read more... )

As someone who also hates cursive and never uses it (except for my signature), it seems weird to me that they still use school time to teach it. Couldn't they add back more art and music to school curriculums instead? With so much communication happening by keyboard :) what, really is the point anymore of cursive???
