Movie reviews

Nov 08, 2010 22:05

I hope this is the right spot for this question - I was wondering if anyone knew of a blog or other website devoted to movie/television reviews that are written by people of color (the reviews, that is, not necessarily the media being reviewed)?

racism in the media, resources

Thanks - that led me to at least one review of the movie I was looking for - For Colored Girls (it's getting pretty dismal reviews in the mainstream media, and I'm wondering if it's partially due to bias or if the movie really is that bad...).

i think its bias. the reviews i read by white people were not great, but the reviews written by pocs (including a statement made by the author or the original piece) were glowing.

regardless, it opened 3rd, after megamind and due date. i take that as a good sign.

Snarky's Machine: http://snarkysmachine.wordpress.com/ covers many things pop culture; Snarky herself is an African-American woman.

She also founded the pop-culture blog I Fry Mine in Butter (http://ifrymineinbutter.com/), which features a diverse array of bloggers as well.
