Arthur C. Clarke is dead at age 90. The final member of science-fiction's "Big Three" has joined his fellows, Asimov and Heinlein, after a long battle with post-polio syndrome. I never read much Clarke, but his visionary works influenced our technological progress to levels undreamed of at the height of his career.
