CSR is sitting at her station, Y-connected with her supervisor (for additional training/coaching purposes). CSR is set to "Auto Ready" mode, which is the mode the terminals there go in when you are waiting for a call to come in and automatically fwd to your terminal. AKA: there are no calls in queue; she is waiting for one to come in in exactly the way she is supposed to. she can't really MAGIC a call in for her, right? company owner rides up to the call centre floor, steps off and sees the two of them waiting at the terminal (since they are seated in front of the elevator). company owner then, ahem, asks of the two of them (in a tone that was less than joyous) "why are you not working?!" curious, what did she really expect them to do?
to be fair, she later apologized, but this sort of thing i think reflects the tension and pressure that is pretty widespread at FLS.

take it or leave it, homes.

I apologize for not replying sooner, I hadn't realized you had posted on one of my entries in my journal. Thank you for giving all the information that you have. I'm currently employed and I'm on the Arthritis foundation, and I start my first shift tomorrow. I hope it turns out okay, and maybe things have changed since you've been there but I doubt it. If things don't go my way I'll quit and give the bare minimum notice needed. I have a really great schedule and apparently no one calls AF after 7 oclock and its essentially four hours of homework doing which works for me. If they don't give me decent raises I will be bringing it up and making an issue of it. I'm starting at 9.75 which isn't all that bad it pays the bills and like I said it's conveinant. But I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me all you have! I will for sure be watching for any nonsense.

hey, no problem.
i did AF when i was there (in addition to a few other things) - it's true that the call volume drops in the evenings; it starts dropping around dinnertime. and hey, if that works for you and your homework situation, then great. i hope it works out for you and all, but just don't expect to be treated well, or even to have your problems addressed should you have any and bring them up. really, i just hope you don't even have to get caught up in that kinda mess, you know?
you're probably being trained by michelle, no? if you see her, tell her jess says hi. :)

Yeah Michelle was my trainer and she was great, I'll make sure to tell her you said Hi :) I dont really expect to be treated well, it its a call centre after all, and being a student we all know how that rolls. If they schedule things outside of my availability Im just going to tell them "thats not what I said I could work" and if they dont agree then thats it. I generally don't let people push me around at jobs that aren't important to me ;) Hopefully you've found a better job :D haha.
