That's certainly a long readjustment period. Such a strange thing! I knew that your life was probably more complicated than mine, but now it seems like I hadn't realized the simplicity of my own life. Interpersonal relationships all go the same with me - they might start off bright, but always they fade away very quickly. I'm sure you've experienced that too? And you say you expected it. Although I guess going away to college is similiar to going anywhere, except maybe not nearly as foreign as Croatia.
