I've lost at least one friend for every month I've been stuck here. That's six, going on seven.

Can someone tell me what the hell is the point?

I'm sorry. A good friend of mine was taken recently, as well... As far as I know, that is one thing we can't do anything about. Such troubles are part of life, in Mayfield or otherwise. One can only be faithful and strong.

It's the guys in charge who are forcing us to cope with this. They shouldn't be able to control our lives, but they can. And it's like you said--we can't do anything about it.

Is there any difference between an injustice dealt by fate and one perpetrated by man? The day may come that our escape is possible, but until then, patience is more productive than despair.

That's a good point, but it still depresses me to think that there's someone behind all of this.
