[Twenty-Six] - The Bittersweet Between My Teeth

Jul 13, 2011 21:59

I was a terrorist.

I helped kill dozens of innocent people and probably hundreds of others in order to free Japan from the oppression of the Britannian Empire. I'd do it again, too. I don't regret it, because I did it for the country, family and friends that I loved.

That's all I have to say.

...Britannian Empire?

[ he heard that name before, but more importantly- ] Kouzuki-san... I think that you did what was necessary. I had stained my hands with blood more than once in the past, myself. And unlike me, you didn't do it for anything else but for a good reason. That is all.

…I know. Thank you.

I'll always be ready to fight for Japan. I swear. Until I'm too hurt or too old to be useful at all. And even then, someone will still have to stop me.

Said like a truly loyal solider. Kouzuki-san reminds me of my own... no, she really is one of them, in that sense. It's always nice to meet someone like that, even in here.

Right.

Long live Japan. You, and every version of variation we might come across here.

You did what you thought you had to for our country. I was born during the occupation as well, and it did not end until very recently. I know the feeling of that time. People were very frustrated.

My Japan was also recently freed from occupation.

It was hard, for years and years. But everyone showed amazing strength. I was only just adjusting to the new, more peaceful world before I got here. Now, I feel like I've missed a lot.

It's unfortunate to hear about the innocent people, but your cause sounds noble.

I only did what I thought was right. Whether it was noble or not… didn't really matter, in the end.

You have my respect for following a conviction through, especially as a fighter.

Are you also a fighter?
