Dissatisfied users - Irrelevant R Us?

Mar 19, 2008 11:00

With how busy I've been, my time online is limited & I'm doing more skimming than reading some days (if I'm online at all!) Snatching a few minutes at the library, I saw LJ's first news post about the latest changes & thought nothing of it. Words like 'streamlining' and 'simplifying' didn't seem like they should raise concern, and I continued to ( Read more... )

I think the strike is a good idea if enough people participate. I'm going to post about this and encourage participation as well.

See, that's the key- if enough people participate.

I do plan to participate. After all, it is only a day, and it's a small sacrifice for each person that will (hopefully) have a big effect in the long run. =)

And after all, there is other stuff on the Internet we can do, right? Um...right?

We'll see.. I'm still skeptical about the sort of effect it will have, but I'm hoping!

Some days are REALLY long without LJ to divert.. It's the people interaction that is a welcome thing as Friday drags on!

Yeah, I was a little skeptical too at first, but we can at least try. =)

Ah, yes. I know. =/ But a lot of people are participating in the strike, so even if you were on LJ you might not get much interaction. =P

Hee! That is what I will tell myself. "No one I know is posting or commenting today anyway." It will make things so much better ;)

At least for Western Christians it wouldn't be a huge sacrifice to participate in a strike since this is Good Friday so we should all be busy with church and/or Easter preparations. :)

hehe! Alas, I'm working (and going in early too, in fact) on Friday, and none of the churches I've visited have anything going on until Friday evening, so I'll be feeling the full effect of LJ-deprivation!

I think I'm going to participate. Until just two days ago, I hadn't the faintest clue what was going on. I'm not quick to catch onto stuff like that. But after doing a bunch of reading...

All that SUP has done and is doing is making me mad. :-/ *headdesk* I love LJ. Why do they have to go and ruin it?!

I was considering it, but I don't think I will. I'm not convinced that it's going to involve enough people or last long enough to make much of an impact.

I am still holding out hope that they do not destroy LJ <3

Well, I tend to blow most of the stuff off. I already have a paid acct. My oldest dd has a paid account, my hubby and all of my kids have basic accounts. I guess I just don't care about the changes at this point. I've been journalling on here for 4 1/2 years ~ and that's what I use it for, a journal. I've met some really good friends that I adore and I like the way LJ is laid out (as opposed to myspace) so I guess I'll just keep on keeping on. I rarely if ever notice any new policies, actually!

I do have my Dh back up my posts whenever there is a big hullabaloo, though, just in case. I have a lot of stuff on here!!

That's tended to be my reaction too, but I'm disappointed to see how current management is brushing aside user reaction & seems to perceive user satisfaction as an unimportant thing :/

Isn't that the way of most companies these days? Especially large corporations... It doesn't really surprise me. I'll probably not post/use lj tomorrow in support... but I also may forget completely and totally upset someone by posting.

Unfortunately, yes. I considered participating, but opted not to. I did want to make the information available though :)
