Early Life:
* Ienzo was homeschooled during his early life. Because of the often brutal nature of public schools (cliques, stereotypes, etc) this was viewed as a healthy alternative, and, indeed, it was in a way. Ienzo was able to learn ate a comfortable pace right at home, but at the cost of any and all social skills. After all, by learning at home you don't get the chance to mingle with those of the same age group quite as much.
* However, his parents died when he was still quite young, and it was then that he was taken in by Ansem the Wise. Adopted, as it were. From then on he was given the finest education the castle had to offer. Therefore, it's really no surprise that he became an apprentice years later.
* His upbringing is the most likely result for his polite and sophisticated behavior, in spite of being a teenager. He was taught to be polite and respectful towards others from an early age. In addition to this, he was taught how to be self-serving so that he would be able to take care of himself if he were home alone and when he moved out. As such he does know how to cook to a degree (it's not a huge hobby, however) and other important life skills.
* Because of his new status a fair portion of his time would be spent at the Castle, which was enormous...and Ienzo loved every minute of it. The scenery itself was beautiful, but it was more or less the technical advancements of the castle that truly captivated him from the moment he set foot inside.
* Due to being inside the castle almost all the time, he didn't make many friends. It didn't really bother him, however. Ienzo was perfectly fine spending time with Ansem as well as Even and the castle guards, despite the age gaps. Even so, most of his time was spent in the castle library, where he'd read pages upon pages of books.
* He probably did encounter a few of the Restoration Committee when they were younger, but never really knew them that well, since he was socially inept as well as the fact that, again, he spent a lot of time inside the castle.
As an Apprentice:
* When Ansem began to study the heart, Ienzo was a fast pick as an apprentice due to his outstanding intellect and his closeness to Ansem as a would-be 'son'.
* Over the years he'd gotten to know his fellow apprentices, too, and therefore was quite comfortable with the idea. Although Even questioned whether or not he should be studying at such a young age, he became somewhat of a mentor in the art of science. Of the apprentices, though, he was most comfortable with Elaeus, and Braig who, despite his odd behavior and joking, was very intelligent in his own right. Xehanort was the closest to his age and very intelligent, but, while they did get along, he was rather intimidating.
* When he wasn't working Ienzo continued to retreat to his favorite place in the castle, the library. Often times he would be a little late because he became so immersed in reading, but that was just another quirk of his.
* It was actually Ienzo who suggested that a basement laboratory be built so to further expand their studies, something which did come to be in due time.
* From the point Ienzo is taken from the studies haven't gone beyond theoretical, and the apprentices haven't toyed with the darkness; Xehanort simply has suggested it, much to Ansem's displeasure.
Similarities with Zexion:
* Both he and Zexion are very intelligent have have similar speech patterns.
* Both seem to enjoy books.
* The two both are polite in a way, at least to their peers.
* Where Ienzo gets along with Elaeus, Zexion gets along with Lexaeus.
* Ienzo actually does have some illusionary abilities, albeit weak, and Zexion's element is illusion.
* If he really wanted to, he could be a manipulator, and Zexion is skilled in manipulating others.
Differences between the two:
* The main difference comes from the very fact that Ienzo has a heart. He can feel, and he has morals, so naturally he would be different based on that alone, not to mention the fact that Zexion spent about a decade as a Nobody, and Ienzo hasn't even touched darkness yet (barring
kingdomdressing).
* Ienzo is a bit more naive than Zexion because, at least mentally (mun personally doesn't believe that Nobodies age, but that's debatable), he's younger than his Nobody counterpart and hasn't had the same experiences as well.
* While Zexion manipulates others frequently, Ienzo doesn't because, again, he has morals, and really sees no reason to. For Ienzo, he actually would be manipulated, as would the other apprentices, by Xehanort to continue the studies and inevitably lose their hearts.
* While typically calm, Ienzo does have his moments where he fumbles, and he's much more awkward at times. Zexion, being a Nobody, is almost always calm, obviously.
* Zexion, quite frankly, is a jerk, even if he is a polite one, while Ienzo is far from cruel. Emotions, he has them.
Some Misc Facts:
* Ienzo is very proper. He sits up straight, tries not to put his elbows on tables when eating, and ensures that he is well-dressed at all times. Unless there's a need he'll usually refrain from interrupting others when they speak, and even then he often says 'Excuse me' rather than barging into a conversation uninvited. If he doesn't know someone, he'll refer to them as 'sir' or 'miss', and even then he may still refer to them similarly once he's well acquainted with them (e.g. "Miss Kairi", that sorta thing).
* Despite having long bangs that often get in the way, he refuses to cut them, opting to push them out of his face instead.
* He is actually a bit nearsighted and will occasionally wear glasses, such as when he's reading, although he can see fairly well without them, just without all the fine details.
* Ienzo likes long sleeves, and you'll seldom ever see him wearing short-sleeved attire, or sleeveless. He also wears long pants as well; really, the only skin showing is his head and hands.
* Ienzo either ways really fancy clothes or really plain clothes. When he's not at a formal occasion he prefers to wear plain, white tops, usually collared, and slacks, though he does sometimes wear jeans. When at a formal gathering he'll wear something a bit more appropriate, such as a dress-shirt, occasionally a tie (though he prefers not to). Usually in the case of shoes he'll wear boots of some kind, though he may wear laced-shoes, but it's rare.
* He has a tendency to stay up late reading or studying...and then fall asleep during the day as a result. This isn't always the case, but usually his sleeping schedule has many variations. In fact, it isn't common for him to fall asleep with a book in his hand.
* Often times he'll carry quite a load; for example, he may be carrying a large stack of books, or lab equipment, even if it's a bit much.
* Ienzo is also very clumsy, especially when carrying the aforementioned loads. He has a tendency to trip if he's not too careful (the tree at
kingdomdressing, anyone?).
* Moreso than men, Ienzo is very awkward around the opposite sex, though he actually does enjoy the company of most women.
* Ienzo tends to get along more with adults than with other teenagers, and he also seems to get along well with those younger than him (especially in the case of
hidesandseeks). There are some exceptions at
kingdomdressing, but at
vxs_rp he's as socially inept as ever.
* Has never watched television, but he has used computers and, at the DR, played video games.
Relationships with Other Characters:
NOTE: Ienzo is played at both
kingdomdressing and
vardskepp, but his experiences at the DR do not have any effect on him at Vards.
Canon -
Ansem the Wise: His 'father'. Ienzo respects him wholeheartedly and tries his best to meet the man's expectations. He honestly wishes to make him proud, which is why he strove to succeed as an apprentice and, when he was younger, a student. The fact that he knows about the experiments both at KHD has left him uneasy, for he can't even begin to imagine himself betraying him. Refers to him as "Master Ansem", despite him being his adoptive guardian.
Xehanort: In a way he respects Xehanort; he is intelligent to a point that is almost inhuman, but more than respect comes intimidation. Ienzo often doesn't know what to say or think when it comes to Xehanort, and more often than not he'll find himself uncomfortable. The fact that he knows about the experiments now doesn't help.
Braig: Strange. Very strange. Braig often was the 'fun' apprentice, the one who half the time seemed less serious and more snarky. Ienzo gets along with him, but Braig usually ends up teasing him a lot, and usually it's Braig who has to drag him to social gatherings. (In the DR he also poked fun at him not having a girlfriend and made a lovely advert, harhar.)
Dilan: Ienzo respects Dilan, but isn't sure what to think of him. They're on decent terms, however.
Even: Another care taker. When Ienzo was younger Even would keep an eye on him, as there were times when Ansem would be quite busy. He's fairly fond of Even, although he can be quite strict at times and a little intimidating on occasion.
Elaeus: One of his favorite colleagues. The two get along quite well and respect one another, much like Zexion and Lexaeus.
Kairi: See
hidesandseeks in the dressing room bit, more or less.
Kairi's grandmother: Utmost respect; she is a wonderful woman who cares for Kairi and just about everyone quite well.
Rould: *will edit this later*
Ventus: The boy who saved him when the Unversed attacked Radiant Garden. Though they haven't spoken much, he does admire the boy's cheerful and optimistic personality.
vardskepp--
Xehanort: See above. Right now Ienzo is getting along fairly well with Xehanort. At the moment they haven't discussed their studies, mostly focusing on the current issues at hand. He's honestly relieved, as he's been able to focus on othe things without worrying too much about going against his master.
Eve: They spoke briefly, but it was a good conversation. Thus far Ienzo respects Eve and hopes to speak with her again.
Trent: Another member of the scientific community, another person he respects.
Bob: Completely fascinating so far. Ienzo wishes to know more about his world, as it sounds similar to a computer system.
Roxas: Seems to know people named Xemnas and Zexion. Ienzo wishes to know who these people are, as well as Roxas' ties to them.
Neku: They spoke once, and Ienzo didn't mind the conversation, but he doesn't know him well.
kingdomdressing--
Lil' Kairi (
hidesandseeks): Perhaps one of his best friends, despite the age differences. He cares for her much like an older sibling would and loves to spend time with her. It's only ironic that she's given him pep-talks. Haha.
Ri (
windup_boytoy): ...Strange. Ienzo doesn't mind Ri, but he finds his antics a bit much at times, and his language a bit inappropriate. Still, he has helped him in a way, and as odd as he may be, he considers him at least an associate.
Namine (
memory_forger) - He doesn't mind her at all. She is fun to talk to, even if they don't speak to each other much, and, really, she's the only Namine he's met.
Axel (
chakramming) - Ienzo is wary of Axel, but mostly for Kairi's sake. The two are apparently friends, but after speaking to Axel he's a bit unnerved.
Gamer!Kairi (
willnotbuffyou) - His girlfriend, awr. Ienzo really cares about her and enjoys her company thoroughly. Though he's a novice at them, she's shown him 'video games', which he finds fairly entertaining, and they've been to lots of places together (the simulation room seems to be a frequented area between the two). Appreciates the fact that she's his 'tank'...although he still finds the term a bit odd.
Heartless!Kairi (
stainedxpurity) - Ienzo does NOT like her. >: She keeps stalking him, calling him 'cockroach', and keeps trying to either harm him or take his heart. Yeah, it's no picnic. She also succeeded in doing so, and taking Gamer!Kairi's heart once, too.
Kai (
prince_number_7) - They haven't spoken much, but he does appreciate the fact that he helped him and Gamer!Kairi out a while back.
Girlyku (
shadowedcoast) - She's alright. He's not really sure what to think about her, since he doesn't know Rikus that well, but he doesn't mind speaking to her, at least.
I'm sure there's some I'm forgetting. :| Kid needs to get out more.
vxs_rp-
Roxas - He's okay. Roxas did inform him of a few things, which he does appreciate, but he doesn't know him that well.
Zexion - Ienzo is very wary of Zexion. >: He finds it odd how he supposedly would become him when they're so different in many ways.
Crowley - Impulsive and, frankly, terrifying. Ienzo doesn't like Crowley, nor does he appreciate how brutal he was when they had never even spoken before.
Game has restarted. No longer relevant.
I'll add more later. :F
