I love this video

No matter how many times I see it, I laugh. As I went to open livejournal, I accidentally opened my online class. Yikes. I am way too distracted by school. I estimate I am spending about twenty hours a week doing school right now with research projects just getting under way. I need to schedule livejournal time.

mothering, friendship

i love this video too! working at private school, you encounter a lot of these 'perfect parents'

one of my favorite parts is where she says, 'my kids like goldfish crackers' and the blonde says 'that would make my kids want to vomit'

i've seen kids chastise other kids for having processed food in their lunches! i mean, for f#@k's sake. it's great to feed your kids whole, organic food, but it's a privilege to eat healthy fresh food! people need to teach their kids not to be jerks!

I once heard a child talk in disgust of homeless people. He explained they were just "weighing on the system"- he was approximately 7. Ugh.

The video is hilarious! I love when she finishes by saying, "Let me know if you need more help." Ha! My second favorite part is "my children are my hobby"... dog forbid you have any other focus that would make you seem HUMAN. :P

that's awful!

one of the kids at my school today said to one of the teachers, "do you know that you're wearing fake UGGs?"

we really struggle as a faculty with how to teach kids about their privilege and teach them compassion. we do a lot of service projects and community service, but it's tough to teach those lessons and have kids really understand when they are coming from such privilege. thanks for sharing the link!
