He had me SO mad I was LITERALLY SHAKING AND CRYING.

So yeah... I just got into a HUGE argument with my dad which was just us screaming at each other. Long story short; I'm "not allowed out anymore" because I'm not "responsible." The whole time Christine was "safe in her house" I could've been "raped, robbed, gotten a flat tire, or gotten in a car accident." Also, "girls shouldn't be on the streets ( Read more... )

I can't believe your dad is still so strict when you're already an adult!
my parents were strict till I turned 17, then I just stayed out and partied alot and they didn't care really. >.>
not sure if that's good or bad.
haha..
but, your dad does show that he really cares about you and your well being.
I just hope he can also remember you're a grown woman who can take care of herself.

Really. I understand he's worried. I mean, we live in Vegas after all. And I'm not a stay out all night type of person. All I'm asking is can you not call my friends phones once it hits 11:20pm screaming for me to come home.

I mean, is coming home after midnight at 20 years old really such a big deal?

Dude, its like if your dad is SOOOO paranoid then why the hell doesn't he buy you pepper spray or better yet a taser?

And besides when we hang out its not like we're doing drugs or trolling for men, WE JUST PLAY VIDEO GAMES OR SURF THE WEB!

I really don't understand his logic. Being worried is one thing, but you can't freak out every time I come in after 12, especially when he has no idea what I'm doing at the time or how far from the house I am.

He sent me a text at 11:20, while I was hanging out with Christine and her teen-age cousins and mom having fun, telling me to start heading home. He started screaming at me as soon as I walked in the door, when in his room, came down the stairs to scream at me, I went in my room and he continued to scream at me. REALLY?

Seriously I'm gonna do a survey and ask everyone if they think my dad's overreacting and show him the results. You're the 6th person who thinks he's being ridiculous.

HEY! Tomorrow (Sunday) we (as in moi and Sarah and possibly Anthony) are going to Red Rock Canyon, wanna come along? Let me know SOON 'cos we're planning on leaving at 10:30 AM or so (since it gets dark so damn early now).

Sure, I guess. There aren't gonna be spiders and snakes and shit, right? What should I wear and bring? I haven't been up there since like... Idk. I got dragged on one of my mom's field trips.

Hah I know how this is in some ways. I live with Grandma and she's super protective of me. Like super... It is amazing that I can even go out to hang out with my boyfriend at his house kinda thing. She's set curfews (1 am and 3 am-ish) even and she's still uncomfortable with them. And I live in the middle of nowhere too.... Like there's barely any dangers (Minus wild animals) here late at night that I've ever seen.

"I mean, is coming home after midnight at 20 years old really such a big deal?"

I agree lmao. My relatives would like to see me at home before they go to bed I think... Since I'm all loud I'd wake them up when I'd get home at 3 am or whatever.

Oh yeah, and HI. lmao.
