In this country, the people do have the power. We are just not exercising it.

We allow special interests to dominate our legislatures with their money and lobbyists. We allow lawyers from industry to write our laws, ensuring their preferential treatment.

The proportion of citizens who are knowledgeable about issues, much less vote in our elections, is a shame.
