Cansei de Sery Sexy (CSS), Ladytron -THE SUGAR TOUR-
OCTOBER 24TH, 2006
THE CLUBHOUSE MUSIC VENUE
TEMPE, ARIZONA

I hadn't actually gotten a ticket in advance for this show. I just paid at the door since it was kind of a last second thing. I don't even thing I was supposed to go really, but my mother let me anyway.
One again, Allison and I got to the venue at around 5PM, this time just for the hell of it. Although, I'm DEFIANTLY glad we did this time, because show was full full fulllll by the time Ladytron got on stage.

Although, getting to a show early proves to be awesome because, no one else is there really, and you can sometimes see the band member walking and going into the venue. For us, it was Ladytron. Their bassist actually got held up at the door when she tried to go in because the workers thought she was a fan trying to get in early, until they saw the red wrist band on her and realized that she was with one of the band. Plus, she looked spiffy. And Ladytron are spiffy dressers.

----

We got in at around 8PM, as scheduled and waited for a bit until CSS finally went on to start out the show.

CSS is much more amazing live. They look better. They sound better. They're just...better. They're very very funny too. Especially LOVEFOXXX, the vocalist. She is absolutely adorable. I remember Santos said that he and Chelsey were going to this show, but I didn't know when and I didn't know where they were, until during "Alcohol", LOVEFOXXX pulled Chelsey up on stage to dance with her.
LOVEFOXX was very colorful. She wore these spandex that were half leopard print in the front and then the back were rainbow. They were the ones that she wore in the "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above" PV music video. She also wore a large Mickey Mouse shirt over it and had long hair extensions.
After the last song, she jumped into the crowd and surfed until she was put on the ground and started giving hugs to everyone. I remember someone told her that they were hungry, so when she went backstage after their set was over, she brought them back bananas. Awwwww.

Another amazing thing was that this was their first time in Arizona and they loved it. Hopefully they'll come back.

So, after CSS left stage, Laytron's roadies went on to set up all of their keyboards. However, although CSS's set didn't last that long (it ended at around 9PM or so), they were not done setting up all of the lights, so they ended up taking another 30 minutes setting them up again. At this point, like at The Blood Brothers in Seattle, I was feeling very ill. I really think it was from not eating at all that day and the heat. It was wearing on me, so while they were setting up the lights, I went to the back by the bar while Allison stayed in the front. I didn't want her to miss anything. Even though I was in the back I could still see everything perfectly. The Clubhouse is a perfect size. Not too big, not too small.

Finally at around 10PM, Ladytron came out.

Despite the fact that I was really ill. This was by far the most amazing show that I have been to. My favorite thing about band like Ladytron is that, when you see them live, you can feel the music. Like the bass. You can feel it.
Allison was amazing enough to take all of the pictures for me. Since I couldn't get a good view from where I was. ♥
I think the show would have gone a lot more smoothly, hadn't their microphones been unplugged half way through the set. After they fixed it though, it was perfect. You could hear Helen, the vocalist perfectly.
The lighting was intense. Allison and I kind of thought it was going to trigger some soft of epileptic seizure that was hidden in both of us.
Of course, when they played "Destroy Everything You Touch" everyone went crazy. It was -the- song of the night.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Security not letting Ladytron's bassist in.

- When LOVEFOXX had an MC about going to the bathroom and about how "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above" was originally called "Let's get drunk and fucking fuck fuck to a band that just broke up".

- LOVEFOXX bringing out a banana to the hungry fan.

- After "Destroy Everything You Touch", LOVEFOXX came back out and had everyone sing "What is Love" to the melody of "Destroy Everything You Touch"

- Having some kind of tran-sexual man come up to me and ask me to dance with him in a very provocative manner.

AFTERWARD
We stuck around for a little bit, went to the 7-11 that was right next to the venue and waited for mother to pick us up. I always seem to never have any stamina after these shows.
