For creative writing, I have to get twenty-five poems by other people (famous or not) for a portfolio type thing. If anyone knows of any good poems, by someone famous or not, let me know. Or, if you have poems you wrote that you like, and you don't mind that I use them, feel free to give 'em to me. You'll get credit and everything. Thnx. I only ( Read more... )

you can use one of my many poems... this one is one of my personal favorites...
"Sorrow"
With one little slip of this knife,
Away goes this pain called life.
All the sorrows would go away.
Never to hurt another day.
As I watch blood drip to the floor,
Memories begin to come back galore.
Is this really worth the pain?
Do I have anything to gain?
Pulling the knife away from me,
I begin to realize that I am free.
Free from the chains that bind me down.
Turning my smile into a frown.
And as I will feel so much stronger tomorrow,
Will I still have to live with this suicidal sorrow?

Self Involvement at its Best

Midnight comes too soon at college.
I sit here at a Dell Optiplex-
Emily spoke of a certain slant of light,
but I sit here
and consider how you ended a letter-
If you said something nice,
And if you did, how do I respond?

Keats compared the song of a nightingale
to wine-
but I can't seem to get past
scattered e-mails,
can't get ouside of room 204
in Shaw Hall
can't get outside of the tri county area-
too involved in away messages
to pray or listen to anyone else talk.

I miss my nineth grade bedroom,
my fifth grade best friend,
and the time I got high with robin.

The clock spins
and orange minutes dissolve like alka seltzer,
Duritz said it doesn't get much worse than this-
It does.
It's not Tuesday- it's everyday
Times a million.

Twenty-seven lines of selfishness-
Lets make it twenty-eight.
