Country Boy Tree Huggin' Hippie!

Last night Kyle took me to the Gator's Den--a local haunt.  Beer bar, small, rural southern town, a WORLD AWAY from anything I have ever encountered.  Many of the men were wearing over-alls.  It was quite surreal and strange for me.  I don't even know how to describe it, except to say that I felt like an alien.

while acknowleging the sadness of this entry, there is something about the descriptors you used that made me actually picture you there, in that bar filled with overall-wearin' south-easterners, telling kyle that JC was a peace-lovin' hippie. and i giggled.

at first i intended the post to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek, giggle inspiring, if you will. it was really funny. kyle is not religious at all--in fact he is somewhat discomfited that i have a picture of a catholic saint on my bedroom wall (it is a protective icon given to me by a very good friend when i was really sick less than it is a relgious thing for me). So here he is, dramatic stage whisper and all, saying, "you are in the BIBLE BELT, in the south in a small, rural bar, let it go!"

But it is sad too. It was an interesting night. Boy who thought it best that we have no PDAs--to the outside world, his wife just left the day before--finds himself groping my ass at the bar. sigh.

He is such a cutie, though, I can't resist him. And, in a small, rural, southern town, there are no secrets anyway. I think we should just be out about it and not act like we are ashamed in any way.
