Dad here, many stations here in the Atlanta area raised prices 3-4 times, TODAY, many to 4-5 dollars for REGULAR!!! some on the southside were even 6-7 per gallon, because just like grocery stores in those low-income area's charge higher prices than in Dunwoody and Buckhead, they have virtually no competiton. Sometimes even GovPerdue is forced to take action.Late this afternoon, he froze the markup the stations can charge over cost to the same amount they were markingup from wholsale before Katrina. Some of these folks are going to go to jail. Clark Howard says, remember which places pulled this, tell all your friends, and NEVER shop there again. Put the crooks out of business. In a related note, damn I wish I had visited New Orleans...
Don't worry, now that every idiot has filled up his gas today there will be no one to buy gas for a couple days, that means that by the end of labor day gas prices will drop back down close to what they were before people lost their common sense.
