The whole "cool" indie thing, is bound to stir up some controversy, but my favourite new bands atm are Bloc Party and the Futureheads. On a slightly longer-term malarky, my fav artists include the Manics, the Libertines, The Coral, The Divine Comedy, Coldplay, Oasis, Razorlight, The Clash, Joy Division, Billy Bragg, Tom Robinson Band, Kate Bush, The Cure the list goes on...

I'm lucky enough to be get access to a lot of new music (but without any real concept of what is popular at all) and Bloc Party are definately one of the best things I've heard recently. They struck me as being very much in the same area as TV on the Radio strangely enough which was a more recent discovery.

Don't forget Kaiser Chiefs, definitely one of the best punk/art rock bands I've heard, and absolutely amazing to see live.
