Loved this! I don't usually like Irene because she distracts Sherlock from John, but as long as she is facilitating John/Sherlock, then she's all right in my book. And I'm dying to see the scene between John and Sherlock when Irene's advice finally comes to fruition!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the fic!

I definitely got frustrated with Irene in "Scandal In Belgravia"--it's upsetting to see someone come between John and Sherlock! But one of the best things about writing this fic was that I kind of love her now. : )

Awesome fic! I love that Sherlock is going to Irene for advice, and I love your take on Irene. :)

I really like this and your Irene in particular! She's neither here, nor there, a bit elusive, in that she's both connecting to Sherlock and having "it" for him, yet keeping herself independent-kudos for conveying that in a story which is essentially a modern day epistolary! Sherlock was endearing and John's cameos are amazing in how authentic he sounds! Love for this fic. I almost wish they had a threesome.:)

Irene is such a difficult and interesting character, isn't she? Lately I've grown more frustrated with Moffat's version of her in the show--especially after I read his rebuttal to accusations of anti-feminism. I actually wrote this fic first and then went back via editing to make Irene more canon-compliant. I feel like the biggest trick with her is, like you said, making her independent despite her attraction to Sherlock (which is the heart of the anti-feminist complaints, as I understand them). But having her understand and respect John's relationship with Sherlock was actually a really easy solution to the problem. It helps that the groundwork is already there in canon!

I almost wish they had a threesome.:)I'm pretty sure this incarnation of Irene would ( ... )

No need to apologize! I know exactly what you mean about Irene on all counts. Actually, the Irene-centered three ficlets I wrote were almost spot on to what you're saying about her perspective to Sherlock's relationship with John! I am sure I'll be going back to her at some point in the future-I wrote a long post on ASiB back in January and it took me two months to write fanfic, but I'm sure it won't take another two to write another. I did enjoy your story. Very close to my head!canon!

Ah, that's so witty and lovely! I literally felt Sherlock's frustration and John's confusion. Very very well done!

To write from Irene's pov was an excellent idea.

Alos, I ADORE the idea with the skulls - that's so romantic in a Sherlockian way.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your wonderful comment!

I'm glad you got felt the boys' emotions all the way over from my Irene POV--that was the intention, but I was a little worried about writing a John/Sherlock fic without any actual John and Sherlock scenes.

P.S. I am SUPER in love with your icon! Just for the record. : )
